Values of Christ: Number Ten: Continuity of Life

Many religions present various teachings on the continuity of life. The religions of the East, such as Buddhism and Hinduism, teach the process of reincarnation. They teach that the human soul incarnates into one life, and when the body dies, the soul lives in the various levels of existence and incarnates once again. The process continues until the karma created by the soul is learned and a level of enlightenment is accomplished. At that time, the human soul no longer needs to incarnate on the planet and can go on to other forms of existence.

Western religions tend to define life after death as one of two places, heaven or hell. The life continues therefore in either of these places.

The Ageless Wisdom Teachings define this process by looking at life as ONE LIFE, during which many individual lifetimes occur. So a person has essentially ONE LIFE, but incarnates over and over again as a human soul, and takes on what looks like different bodies. These physical, emotional, and mental bodies may look different, but are really a continuation of what the person did in the previous life.

The Ageless Wisdom Teachings also clearly state that human beings do not incarnate as animals. A person who creates all kinds of karmic liabilities does not incarnate as an animal, but as a person who will be born and live in conditions where these karmic debts will have the opportunity to be paid off.

The tenth value that Christ emphasized so strongly was the continuity of life, the everlasting life. He taught that life does not end when you pass away. It is another birth in higher realms. One day we will talk more about that. This is enough for tonight.
